Privacy policy
Short version: we collect very little, and we don't track you. Last updated 23 October 2026.
Who we are
This website is run by Lumen, a web design and development studio led by Shaun Mwangi in Kenya. You can reach us on +254 115 704 062 (call or WhatsApp).
What we collect
The forms on this site don't send anything to us. The contact form builds a WhatsApp message in your browser and opens WhatsApp so you can send it yourself. If you do message or call us, we receive your phone number and whatever you tell us, and we use it only to reply to you and to run your project. WhatsApp's own privacy policy covers what happens on its side.
Your location and local prices
To show prices in your currency, we work out your country from your IP address. Usually our hosting provider supplies the country directly. If it doesn't, our server asks a lookup service (ipwho.is) which country the address belongs to. We don't store your IP address. Your browser keeps the result, along with the day's exchange rates, in local storage for up to an hour so the site doesn't repeat the lookup on every page.
Exchange rates
Our server fetches exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API. That request contains nothing about you.
Cookies and analytics
At the time of writing, this site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we'll update this page first.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operations.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Message or call us and we'll deal with it.
Changes
If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
